As she grew older, the reports describe the Prophet ﷺ weighing whether to separate from her.
Sawdah did not want that. She went to him and asked to remain his wife, telling him she had no wish for anything from the marriage beyond being counted among his wives — and offered to give her turn with him to Aishah so that nothing else in the arrangement would need to change.
He agreed. From then on Aishah received two turns, her own and the one Sawdah had given her, while Sawdah kept her place in the household.
The report is carried in Sahih al-Bukhari, narrated by Aishah.
