Her life
Umm Kulthum was a daughter of the Prophet ﷺ and Khadijah. Before the prophetic mission began, marriage contracts had been concluded for her and her sister Ruqayyah with Abu Lahab's two sons; both sons divorced them before consummation once Abu Lahab turned against the message.
She emigrated to Madinah with the rest of the family. After Ruqayyah died around the time of Badr, she married Uthman ibn Affan, who had been married to her sister.
Beyond these two marriages, the sources report little about her directly. She died in Madinah some years later, in the Prophet's ﷺ lifetime.
